Very interesting; thank you for sharing. I haven't done much reading on the Greeks, but the way you both discussed rereading Plato from a new perspective was delightful and sparked my curiosity.

Why always seek out new books? Why not revisit one that impacted you years ago, now that you and your perspective have changed, even though Plato's work remains the same?

Thank you. In fact the magic of the classics is that they don't remain the same, but something new seems to emerge for readers every time they are read! My own curiosity about the meaning of the name Diotima in Symposium, and the claim that she 'postponed the Plague by 10 years', never arose for me or evidently anyone else until I examined it more closely in 2018-19 - with, I hope you agree, spectacular results.
